A for...accrochage

On the principle of an ABC....  : In the form of an open dialogue with the public, this programme of gatherings launched in 2006 explored the museum's collections and the vocabulary of contemporary art.

To start our ABC guide, "A for accrochage was the ideal introduction to "hand-to-hand" encounter with the works on which the series focussed. Or, how to approach the relationship between the three players - space, the body of the work and that of the visitor - within a museography, examining two key sculptures in the collection, both in wood and in taille directe : Odalisque by Ossip Zadkine (1934), and the sculpture  Bois, deux éléments by Toni Grand (1981), the first a monolith with plinth, the second an assemblage without plinth.
