"One Class, one artwork"

For the first year, the Réattu museum Public Department has participated in the National operation, "One Class, one artwork!", established in 2013 by the Ministries of Education and Culture.
The purpose of this project is to "allow pupils to appropriate local heritage by studying an artwork of a museum and to conceive a lecture presented to the public during the Night of Museums event." The Public Department collaborated with one class from Franck Benedict School and his teacher Christian Schwab.
24 pupils, divided into three groups, worked on three iconic works from the collections: Alcibiades's death by Jacques Réattu (1796), The Lee Miller portrait  by Pablo Picasso (1937) and Presumed Portrait of Aubin Vouet (1620) painted by Simon Vouet.
The final presentation of this work has been decided right away: a recorded oral lecture broadcasted to the public in front of the works concerned  during the evening of the Night of Museums .
Each group, through various methods and experiments such as drawing, writing, literature searches, has developed her own relationship to the work. Then, before the class takes the microphone in the studio of the 3DFM radio, they work to prepare the final texts (all the words are from children) . Like any lecture, but more for such projects, it is an adventure custom-made for the class. During the evening of the Night of Museums, many pupils drove their parents, from room to room and thereby fulfilling their role as budding guide.

"I really enjoyed myself. I learned a lot (...) and it was very interesting. I also had a very funny moments with my classmates and during the evening of the Night of Museums my parents were proud of me. Thank you for everything " A pupil.
